Old Wilmette Library had a database. E-I-E-I-O. And on that database there was some info. Here some info, there some info, everywhere some info.
That is what popped into my head when I began to play with the multitude of databases via the internet (which I learned from one database was invented by Al Gore). I was somewhat shocked, in a good way, at how many databases and of such a variety that Wilmette patrons had access to. I am not sure which is my favorite, but it is probably the historical ones. I would rank the Chicago Tribune Historical database as an eleven out of ten. However, do not be dismayed if you search for such historically important days like my birthday and do not find it reported. Certainly do not stop using the database for such an offense. I am told my people are working on it and will remedy the situation. Okay kids, it is time to post this sucker so all my loyal readers who have been sad that I haven’t posted in a while can read this blog!
